Job summary

Comprehensive Mobile Care is seeking a Full-Time Optician to provide quality vision care to seniors in outpatient clinics across San Diego and San Marcos, CA. This role prioritizes meaningful care in a supportive, mission-driven environment. Responsibilities include assisting in patient intake, eyewear selection, and maintaining portable optometry equipment. The ideal candidate should have 2+ years of experience, preferably with geriatric patients. Benefits include $25-$27 per hour, mileage reimbursement, and a consistent schedule without nights or weekends.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as an Optician or Optometric Assistant preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
• Experience serving geriatric patients preferred.
• Strong understanding of OSHA & infection control.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license required.
• Must be able to lift/transport equipment weighing 25–50 lbs.
• Professional, punctual, and able to work independently.
• A heart for serving seniors and underserved communities.

Responsibilities

• Assist the optometrist with patient intake and basic diagnostic testing.
• Help with eyewear selection, adjustments, and fittings for patients.
• Set up and maintain portable optometry equipment.
• Follow strict sterilization and infection control protocols.
• Ensure patients feel comfortable, supported, and informed.
• Complete basic documentation and administrative tasks.
• Represent CMC with professionalism and compassion.

Skills

Experience as an Optician or Optometric Assistant

Bilingual in Spanish
