Job summary

Herc Rentals is seeking a Mobile Master Technician - Mission Critical Projects to support high-priority locations across the country. This master-level role requires extensive travel (up to 90%) and may involve long‑term deployments or temporary relocation.

You will diagnose, repair, and service a wide range of fleet equipment, aiming to minimize downtime and ensure fleet readiness for critical projects. Strong independent work habits and customer liaison skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical schooling preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of experience as a heavy equipment technician.
• CDL preferred; valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Travel to Herc branches and customer sites to diagnose and repair equipment.
• Prioritize service needs in high‑impact areas and support large projects.
• Diagnose fuel, electrical, hydraulic, and propane systems.
• Replace parts and recondition equipment to safe operating condition.
• Educate teams and customers on proper equipment use and maintenance.
• Maintain clean work areas and complete repair logs and DOT paperwork.
• Mentor local technicians and collaborate with branch managers.
