Qualifications

• Very good knowledge of San Francisco streets and traffic.
• Good English communication skills.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Drive the survey vehicle safely on planned routes at capture speed through San Francisco streets, parks, and complex urban layouts.
• Plan and adjust routes to get complete coverage of assigned streets.
• Monitor data capture and flag gaps or quality issues in the field.
• Work with the scanner operator on system setup, checks, and the daily data handoff.
• Help prepare daily scanning operations.
• Help with basic care and setup of the vehicle and scanning equipment.
• Handle and transport high-value technical equipment securely.
• Communicate professionally with local authorities or traffic control when needed, with full support from our team.

Mobile Mapping Specialist (Driver) – San Francisco

Role Overview

This is a temporary, full-time position with greehill as a Mobile Mapping Specialist. You will operate one of our survey vehicles alongside our scanner operators, capturing street-level LiDAR and imagery data of the city's street trees. The vehicle is equipped with an RTK GNSS system and Mobile Laser Scanners (MLS). This short-term, hands-on assignment lets you work with cutting-edge geospatial and remote sensing technology.

Assignment Details

• Role: Mobile Mapping Specialist (Driver), temporary non-exempt (hourly) employee of greehill
• Location: San Francisco, CA (local candidates only; no relocation, travel, or accommodation provided)
• Schedule: 5 days per week, days are flexible
• Duration: Starts as early as Wednesday, October 7, 2026, and runs through October 31, 2026
• Rate: $30/hour (approx. $1,200/week at 40 hours)

Requirements

• At least 2 years of hands-on experience operating sensor-equipped vehicles (such as autonomous or mobile mapping vehicles) on city streets, including field data collection and troubleshooting of vehicle-mounted sensor and computing systems
• Must be at least 25 years old
• A valid California driver's license (Class C) and a clean driving record
• At least 5 years of active driving experience
• Very good knowledge of San Francisco streets and traffic
• A safety-conscious, responsible, and adaptable driving style
• Good English communication skills
• Authorization to work in the United States
