Job summary

greehill seeks a Mobile Mapping Specialist (Driver) in San Francisco to operate survey vehicles, capture street-tree LiDAR data, and collaborate with scanner operators on daily handoffs. The role is temporary, hourly, with flexible 5-day weeks and starts as soon as possible.

Applicants should have 2+ years in sensor-equipped vehicle operation, a valid California driver’s license, and strong knowledge of San Francisco streets. Immediate eligibility to work in the United States is required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years operating sensor-equipped vehicles on city streets; field data collection and troubleshooting sensor systems.
• Must be at least 25 years old.
• California driver's license (Class C) with a clean driving record.
• At least 5 years of active driving experience.
• Very good knowledge of San Francisco streets and traffic.
• Good English communication skills.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Drive the survey vehicle safely on planned routes at capture speed through San Francisco streets, parks, and complex urban layouts.
• Plan and adjust routes to get complete coverage of assigned streets.
• Monitor data capture and flag gaps or quality issues in the field.
• Work with the scanner operator on system setup, checks, and the daily data handoff.
• Help prepare daily scanning operations.
• Help with basic care and setup of the vehicle and scanning equipment.
• Handle and transport high-value technical equipment securely.
• Communicate professionally with local authorities or traffic control when needed, with full support from our team.
