What You’ll Do:

  • Champion Safety: Take an active role in prioritizing safety throughout the operation for yourself and others at all times in accordance with OSHA/MSHA and Vulcan standards. Comply with all Safety, Health, Environmental, and other Company policies, procedures, and requirements.
  • Manage Team: Direct the activities of repair and maintenance personnel. Assist with training, scheduling, assigning tasks, and evaluating performance. Ensure each employee’s time is accurate and charged to the correct cost account.
  • Repair and Maintain Equipment: Assist with repair planning of mobile equipment. Ensure all equipment is maintained according to Vulcan standards. Ensure repairs maximize equipment availability at acceptable costs.
  • Monitor Costs: Continually evaluate employee performance and the effectiveness of the repair and maintenance program for improvements.
  • Collaborate: Work closely with Central Services, vendors, and manufacturers to ensure correct repairs and maintenance. Coordinate repairs with other plant supervisors for equipment availability.
  • Maintain Records: Keep repair and maintenance records through the Equipment Maintenance System and other methods.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Other duties as assigned.

Skills You’ll Need:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: 10 years of related experience in heavy equipment repair and diesel mobile equipment maintenance. Progressively responsible roles. Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Functional Knowledge: Knowledge of shop waste products, environmental impact, disposal, and familiarity with Tier IV Diesel Engines.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to motivate, delegate, and communicate effectively across teams.
  • Flexibility: Willing to work overtime, extended hours, outdoors in all weather, and tolerate loud noises.
