Job summary

Florida Canyon Mining, Inc. is seeking a Mobile Maintenance Planning Supervisor to lead the planning and scheduling of mobile equipment maintenance, including wheeled, tracked, and light vehicles.

Reporting to the Mobile Maintenance General Supervisor, the role emphasizes safety leadership, KPI development, backlog management, and coordination with Operations to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Recognized mechanical trade certificate, technical diploma, or relevant engineering degree or diploma preferred.
  • Minimum of seven years of progressive mobile equipment, maintenance or maintenance planning experience required.
  • Minimum of two years of lead-planner, supervisory, project-lead, or planning leadership experience required.
  • Extensive experience supporting heavy mobile equipment and light vehicles in a surface mining environment required.
  • Advanced knowledge of maintenance planning, scheduling, backlog management, reliability, and asset-management practices required.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop KPIs, analyze performance data, and implement corrective actions required.
  • Experience overseeing major repairs, shutdowns, equipment overhauls, component replacements, or complex maintenance projects required.
  • Advanced experience using CMMS or EAM systems required.
  • Experience with maintenance budgeting, cost analysis, forecasting, and resource planning required.
  • Strong knowledge of equipment lifecycle, component-repair strategies, and reliability-centered maintenance required.
  • Demonstrated leadership, coaching, performance-management, and employee-development skills required.
  • Ability to establish priorities, delegate work, meet deadlines, and manage competing maintenance requirements required.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project or similar scheduling software preferred.
  • Ability to develop and deliver clear presentations to employees, contractors, vendors, and leadership required.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills required.
  • Thorough knowledge of mine-site health, safety, environmental, and MSHA requirements required.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the position required.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate safety leadership and ensure safety values, environmental requirements, and MSHA requirements are incorporated into planning and scheduling activities.
  • Supervise, assign, prioritize, and evaluate the work of Mobile Maintenance Planner Is, Planner IIs, and Planner IIIs.
  • Establish planning and scheduling standards, procedures, templates, controls, and quality expectations.
  • Create, maintain, and report on department maintenance plans and schedules.
  • Oversee the development of weekly, monthly, annual, and long-range maintenance schedules.
  • Review and approve major maintenance plans, shutdown schedules, component-replacement plans, and complex work packages.
  • Establish baseline schedules and project milestones for major mobile equipment maintenance activities.
  • Lead schedule review meetings and ensure schedules are updated to reflect progress, risks, resource requirements, and changing priorities.
  • Develop and monitor planning KPIs, including backlog health, schedule compliance, PM compliance, ready-work percentage, work-order quality, material readiness, planning accuracy, equipment availability, and maintenance cost.
  • Assign planning resources based on equipment criticality, maintenance priorities, major repair schedules, and department workload.
  • Ensure the maintenance backlog is accurate, prioritized, risk-ranked, and aligned with equipment and operational requirements.
  • Oversee CMMS data quality, work-order structure, equipment history, forms, and planning-process compliance.
  • Monitor critical mobile equipment and communicate equipment risks, schedule conflicts, and resource constraints to maintenance and operations leadership.
  • Oversee procurement logistics and material-readiness processes for mobile maintenance work.
  • Coordinate maintenance schedules with Operations when equipment availability or downtime may affect production.
  • Develop and present reports regarding planning performance, maintenance costs, equipment risk, project progress, and corrective actions.
  • Lead or sponsor reliability improvement, asset-management, cost-reduction, backlog-improvement, and planning-process initiatives.
  • Evaluate strategies related to materials management, component repair, equipment configuration, equipment selection, replacement timing, outsourcing, and in-house maintenance capabilities.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of reliability-centered maintenance tactics.
  • Coordinate planning for major shutdowns, overhauls, component changes, and mobile equipment maintenance projects.
  • Lead maintenance budget development, cost analysis, forecasting, and resource planning.
  • Identify and recommend staffing, contractor, tooling, technology, training, and resource requirements.
  • Support implementation and continued development of the DMMS program and ensure employees receive appropriate training.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, training, and professional development to planning personnel.
  • Perform employee performance evaluations and monitor attendance, safety performance, work quality, and goal attainment for direct reports.
  • Provide hiring input and support onboarding, performance management, corrective action, and other personnel decisions in accordance with company policy and applicable law.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance Execution, Operations, Engineering, Warehouse, Procurement, Finance, contractors, vendors, and OEM representatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
