Job summary

McCarthy Tire Service is seeking an experienced Mobile Maintenance Mechanic to join our Wilkes-Barre, PA team. You will travel to customer locations to service trailers and medium- to heavy-duty trucks, performing preventive maintenance and repairs with a focus on quality workmanship.

The role requires independence, strong troubleshooting, and a commitment to safety. You will work Monday-Friday with overnight on-call service as needed, ensuring excellent customer service in the field.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Welding experience required.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to pass a DOT physical.
• Must be available for overnight service calls when needed.
• Previous hands-on mechanical or maintenance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, including oil changes, lubrication, and routine servicing.
• Diagnose and repair brake, suspension, electrical, and mechanical issues.
• Perform repairs and maintenance on trailers and medium-to heavy-duty trucks.
• Troubleshoot problems and identify effective repair solutions.
• Travel to customer locations and perform mobile repairs in the field.
• Provide professional, courteous customer service while working onsite.
• Complete service calls safely, efficiently, and professionally.
• Work Monday-Friday with availability for overnight on-call service.
• Assist other team members and departments when needed.

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For

Preferred Qualifications

These qualifications are a plus, but are not required:

• CDL
• Class 7 Inspection License
• Previous mobile repair or field-service experience
• Medium- and heavy-duty truck experience
