Job summary

Kinross Gold Corporation is seeking a Mobile Maintenance professional to ensure heavy mining equipment is safe and reliable. The role requires diagnosing and repairing large equipment, reading schematics, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.

Ideal candidates have 4–5 years of heavy equipment repair experience, a diesel technician diploma preferred, and the ability to work overtime.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written, analytical and persuasive skills.
• Able to work independently and in management teams.
• Strong administrative, organizational and technical writing skills.
• Must be 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States full-time.
• Requires valid driver’s license.

Job description

Round Mountain is an open-pit mine located in Nevada, one of the best mining jurisdictions in the world. The mine uses conventional open-pit mining methods and processes ore by mill and heap leach. Kinross began operating the mine in 2003, and it has since become a continuous improvement leader in the Company’s portfolio. Round Mountain poured its 15 millionth ounce in 2018. Round Mountain and the nearby Bald Mountain mine make up Kinross’ Nevada operations.

The Round Mountain mine is an important contributor to the Nye County economy and, working with local stakeholders, has helped achieve significant improvements in healthcare and education in the area.

Job Description

Under the direction of the Mobile Maintenance Supervisor, the incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that each piece of equipment is safe to operate and is in no danger of component failure while continuously aligning daily functions to reflect Kinross’ values.

Job Responsibilities

• Returns well documented and accurately completed work orders and service reports.
• Helps develop other department personnel to perform duties listed above.
• Performs other related functions as assigned by supervisor.

• General understanding of mining operations, as well as limited understanding of milling and maintenance operations.
• Working knowledge and skill with P.C. utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software.
• Strong verbal, written, analytical and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management.
• Ability to work independently and also as a member of the management team.
• Demonstrates strong administrative, organizational and technical writing skills.
• Must be 18 years old and presently authorized to work in the United States on a full time basis.
• Requires valid driver’s license.
