Job summary

Ryder is hiring an Experienced Level Diesel Technician in Loxley, Alabama to join our team working on heavy duty vehicles. You will perform maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics while benefiting from a comprehensive benefits package and a clear path for career development.

Includes weekly pay, sign-on bonuses, and opportunities for merit-based increases and tuition repayment. Valid CDL-A preferred, with extensive safety and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

• Heavy duty vehicle maintenance experience is required/preferred.
• Basic diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, AC and electrical systems.
• Some experience with preventative maintenance and tire/brake work.

Responsibilities

• Hourly Pay:$32.00 Per Hour
• Certification Bonus of $100 for each New ASE Certification Obtained up to $700
• Quarterly Bonus: Ryder Pays you up to $500 Every Quarter - Four Times Per Year

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Vocational or Technical Certification Post Secondary degree or Technical Certifications, preferred
• Basic tools, required
• Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including:
• Routine preventative maintenance, which should include oil changes, brake and tire work
• Basic diagnostics and repairs, including AC and electrical systems, required
• Three (3) years or more relevant work experience, preferred
• All other certification as required by location, required
• Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A,preferred
• All other certification as required by location, required

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy duty and medium duty equipment
• Knowledge of and the ability to apply knowledge of computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.

This position requires for you to drive Ryder vehicles. In order to become a Ryder employee you must:

• Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
