Summary

Position Highlights:

The Mobile Lung Truck Driver and Logistics Coordinator is responsible for the safe and timely transport of the CT Mobile Lung Screening Truck (GVWR 52,500 lbs.) and staff to approved screening sites and back to Moffitt Cancer Center. Perform logistics reviews on potential host sites, including site surveys, ensuring proper logistics for the mobile unit, such as evaluating and communicating leave times for events, estimated travel times, and return times. The driver also assists with the operations of the lung screening when parked, including ensuring safe boarding and exiting procedures, managing patient flow, maintaining unit cleanliness, and supporting the program manager in coordinating multi-calendar functions. Flexibility in scheduling is required, as the job may involve irregular hours, including evenings and weekends. The individual may also drive the Moffitt shuttle, act as a courier between campuses, and serve as a transportation driver. Other duties as assigned to ensure smooth operations.

Credentials and Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Seven (7) years of experience driving and transporting individuals or products, including 2 years of customer service. Experience must involve driving trucks with heavy medical equipment such as CT scanners. A safe driving record is required.
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License
  • CDL B license endorsement
  • Ability to operate various vehicles, from electric and gas-driven trams to full-sized vans over 33,000 lbs GVWR
  • Ability to visually inspect vehicle components and assess safety
  • Knowledge of routine preventative maintenance (fluid and tire checks)
  • Intermediate computer skills, including MS Excel, Outlook, and mapping software; proficient in using cell phones for communication and scheduling
  • Ability to follow instructions via two-way radio
