The Hillman Group is hiring a Mobile Locksmith Technician to support automotive locksmith needs in the Atlanta area. You will operate a company van, cut keys, program or clone fobs, and travel to stores within a 50-mile radius.

The role emphasizes customer service and on-the-road professionalism. The position offers $25/hour plus a 5% commission on sales, with a typical schedule of 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, Thursday–Monday or Friday–Tuesday, weekends required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; some college preferred.
• Must possess or be eligible to obtain a Locksmith License (may require FBI background check).
• Experience in locksmithing, automotive services, retail, or other customer-facing technical roles is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Deliver mobile locksmith solutions using a company van with Automotive Mobile Sales Representative.
• Assist customers with automotive locksmith needs including key cutting and fob programming or cloning.
• Operate and maintain the mobile store, keeping it clean and in showroom condition.
• Manage inventory levels, coordinate customer meetings, and travel within a 50-mile radius daily.
• Provide outstanding customer service and support mobile program excellence.

Essential Job Functions *

• Partner with the Automotive Mobile Sales Representative to deliver mobile locksmith solutions using a company‑provided service van.
• Assist customers with automotive locksmith needs, including but not limited to key cutting and key fob programming or cloning.
• Operate and maintain your mobile “store,” setting the standard for future mobile locksmith operations.
• Manage inventory levels, coordinate customer meetings, and keep the mobile van clean and in showroom condition.
• Collaborate with leadership to share ideas, improve processes, and support mobile program excellence.
• Provide outstanding customer service, ensuring every interaction reflects professionalism and care.

Education & Experience

Competencies – Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of different OEM transponder systems & keys
• Knowledge of OEM subscriptions & J234 Passthru (Not mandatory, but good to have)
• Knowledge & experience using & maintaining electronic and manual key cutting machines & equipment
• Proficient using mobile apps, email, and basic computer tools.
• Strong customer service orientation and communication skills.
• Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights, or holidays as needed.
• Willingness and ability to learn new technologies and develop new technical skills.
• Strong problem‑solving ability with above‑average technical/mechanical aptitude.
• Highly trustworthy, reliable, patient, and detail‑oriented.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

Sales/Service: Environment varies due to location/store set-up. May be exposed to cramped quarters, dust, fumes, or odors. Travel required daily. May have to drive 200 miles daily. Hand/eye coordination required. Function vision and hearing required.

Physical Demands

Sales/Service: Medium, lifting up to 30 lbs., occassionally pushing/pulling up to 100 lbs.
