The Hillman Group is seeking a Mobile Locksmith Technician in the San Diego, CA area to operate a mobile service van providing automotive key cutting, programming, and locksmith solutions directly to customers. You will work with the Automotive Mobile Sales Representative to deliver a seamless, high-quality customer experience and resolve issues on-site.

Typical duties include cutting and programming keys, diagnosing needs, maintaining the mobile unit, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Basic computer, email, and mobile technology proficiency.
• High School Diploma or GED required; valid driver’s license expected.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Locksmith License where required.
• Excellent problem-solving and independent work capability.

Responsabilités

• Provide automotive key cutting, duplication, programming, and key fob services at customer locations.
• Diagnose customer needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Partner with the Automotive Mobile Sales Representative to deliver a seamless customer experience.
• Serve as the technical expert in the field with a customer-first approach.
• Troubleshoot issues and provide effective solutions.

What You'll Do

• Provide automotive key cutting, duplication, programming, and key fob services at customer locations
• Diagnose customer needs and recommend appropriate solutions
• Partner closely with the Automotive Mobile Sales Representative to deliver a seamless customer experience
• Serve as the technical expert in the field while maintaining a customer-first approach
• Troubleshoot issues and provide effective solutions with confidence and professionalism

Schedule

Typical Hours 900 AM - 500 PM

Schedule Options

Thursday - Monday

Friday - Tuesday

Weekend availability is required.

Operate Your Mobile Service Center

• Manage and maintain a fully equipped mobile locksmith van
• Maintain inventory, supplies, and equipment readiness
• Coordinate customer appointments and daily service activitiesEnsure the van remains organized, professional, and customer-ready

Drive Customer Satisfaction

• Create positive, memorable experiences with every customer interaction
• Build trust through professionalism, technical expertise, and reliability
• Represent Hillman with integrity and exceptional service

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Locksmith License (where required)
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Basic computer, email, and mobile technology proficiency

• Automotive service experience
• Experience with key cutting, programming, or vehicle electronics
• Technical troubleshooting experienceRetail or customer-facing service experience
• Experience using aftermarket key programmers and diagnostic equipment

Travel to one store location per day within a 50-mile radius is expected.
