Job summary

Elko County's library system seeks a Bookmobile Driver to operate a large diesel bookmobile on rural and community routes, delivering library services and materials. The role includes safety checks, generator operation, and coordinating maintenance.

You will provide courteous customer service to patrons of all ages, assist with card processing, and support classroom visits and outreach programs. Flexibility for evenings and weekends is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to operate a large, high-profile vehicle safely.
• Must perform basic vehicle checks and maintenance tasks.
• Exemplary customer service and communication with diverse patrons.
• Lifts up to 45 pounds and handles materials during routes.

Responsibilities

• Drive the bookmobile on long distances through rural and community routes.
• Perform safety checks, fueling, fluid level monitoring, and tire pressure checks.
• Operate and monitor the bookmobile generator during field operations.
• Coordinate maintenance with approved vendors.
• Checkout materials, issue cards, collect payments, and assist patrons.
• Coordinate classroom visits and promote library services.
