Job summary

Prestige Fleet Services is seeking a mechanically skilled technician for on-site fleet maintenance in Lexington, KY. You will diagnose and repair medium-duty trucks, perform DOT checks, and manage repairs with accurate work orders.

The role emphasizes hands-on problem solving and delivering quality service in a team environment. We value 3+ years of experience on medium-duty trucks, ability to use billing software, and a strong work ethic.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience repairing medium-duty trucks (Isuzu, Hino, or similar).
• Experience performing annual federal inspections and brake inspections.
• Comfortable working with computers for billing and work orders.
• Follows verbal and written work orders to stay on track with daily repairs.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, inspect, and repair medium-duty (Class 3-6) trucks including brakes, electrical, hydraulic, A/C, engine, exhaust, and after-treatment systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance and DOT inspections on-site at the yard; service and replace parts like tires, hubs, brakes, and lift-gates.
• Write work orders and open/close repair orders on a company device for all in-yard work.
• Inspect straight trucks to meet the USDOT road safety requirements.
• Manage shop/service inventory and source parts from local vendors.
• Complete inspection reports and DOT documentation accurately and on time.
• Deliver strong customer service and report findings to management.

WHAT TO EXPECT

• Diagnose, inspect, and repair medium-duty (Class 3-6) straight trucks and box trucks, including brakes, electrical, hydraulic, A/C, engine, exhaust, and after-treatment systems.

• Manage shop/service inventory and source parts from local vendors.
• Complete inspection reports and DOT documentation accurately and on time.
• Deliver strong customer service and report findings to management.

WHAT IT TAKES

• 3+ years of experience repairing medium-duty trucks (Isuzu, Hino, or similar).
• Experienced in performing annual federal inspections and brake inspections.
• Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record & no suspensions.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
• Comfortable working with computers for billing and work orders.
• Follows verbal and written work orders to stay on track with daily repairs.
• Confident explaining a diagnosis and helping determine next steps on repairs.
• Self-motivated with excellent organization and planning skills.

WHAT WILL HELP YOU STAND OUT

• Experience with medium-duty diesel or gas engines.
• Your own tools.
• Certifications are a plus | EPA 608/609/Universal & ASE.
