Job summary

Prestige Fleet Services in Milwaukee is seeking a mechanically skilled technician to diagnose, inspect, and repair Class 6-8 tractors with occasional trailer work. You'll perform DOT inspections, manage parts and service orders, and deliver strong customer service, supporting a crew-focused team.

Must have a valid driver’s license, be able to lift 50+ pounds, and be comfortable using computers for billing and work orders. Equipment handling and safety are paramount in this role.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience repairing Commercial Class 8 Semi-Tractors with occasional trailer work.
• Experience performing annual federal inspections and brake inspections.
• Valid Driver’s License with clean record and no suspensions.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
• Comfortable using computers for billing and work orders.
• Follows verbal and written work orders to stay on track with daily repairs.
• Confident explaining diagnoses over the phone and guiding customer decisions.
• Self-motivated with strong organization and planning skills.

Responsibilities

WHAT TO EXPECT:

• Diagnose, inspect, and repair Class 6-8 tractors with minimal trailer work, including brakes, electrical, hydraulic, A/C, engine, exhaust, systems, components and after-treatment systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance and DOT inspections; service and replace parts like tires, hubs, axles, and lift-gates.
• Write work orders and open/close repair orders on a company device for mobile road calls and in-yard work.
• Inspecting tractors and trailers to meet the U.S. Department of Transportation's road safety requirements.
• Manage service truck inventory and source parts from local vendors.
• Complete inspection reports and DOT documentation accurately and on time.
• Deliver strong customer service and report findings to management.

Qualifications

WHAT IT TAKES:

• 3+ years of experience repairing Commercial Class 8 Semi-Tractors with occasional trailer work.
• Experienced in performing annual federal inspections and brake inspections.
• Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record & no suspensions.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
• Comfortable working with Computers for billing and work orders.
• Follows verbal and written work orders to stay on track with daily repairs.
• Confident explaining a diagnosis over the phone and helping the customer decide next steps on repairs.
• Self-motivated with excellent organization and planning skills.

WHAT WILL HELP YOU STAND OUT:
