Job summary

Heartstrings Pet Hospice, In-Home Euthanasia & Aftercare is seeking veterinarians to provide compassionate in-home hospice and euthanasia care across Washington, DC, Arlington, Alexandria, Tyson’s Corner, Reston, and surrounding Virginia communities. Roles include 2-, 3-, 4-, or 5-day opportunities with a focus on meaningful medicine and work-life balance.

Compensation includes a base salary with bonus opportunities; 4-day positions start at $120,000 and 5-day positions at $145,000 per year,

Qualifications

• DVM/VMD or equivalent veterinary degree
• Active North Carolina veterinary license or eligibility
• Valid driver’s license
• A compassionate heart and commitment to exceptional end-of-life care
• Availability consistent with the position’s schedule, including some weekends

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home hospice and euthanasia care to patients and support families in choosing compassionate end-of-life options.
• Collaborate with a dedicated support team to coordinate appointments, families, and aftercare.
• Deliver high-quality medical care and professional independence in a non-clinic setting.
