Job summary

JLL is seeking an HVAC Technician to maintain, monitor, repair, and operate HVAC systems across multiple Florida sites including Ocala. The role requires travel to assigned sites and on-call rotation for the region, ensuring safety, reliability, and efficiency of equipment.

The ideal candidate has EPA 608 and additional certifications, along with hands-on experience in preventive maintenance and coordination with vendors. On-site work at client facilities includes rooftops and mechanical rooms.

Qualifications

  • Experience maintaining and repairing HVAC systems and related equipment
  • Knowledge of Building Automation / Control Systems and safe material handling
  • Ability to read readings, adjust operations, and coordinate with vendors
  • Demonstrated safety practices and clean, organized work environments
  • Proven ability to travel between sites and work on rooftops as needed
  • Capable of working in a team and coordinating with service providers

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repairs on HVAC systems and equipment including chillers, AHUs, condensers, exhaust fans, boilers and pumps
  • Inspect, calibrate, and replace components to maintain optimal HVAC performance
  • Record readings and adjust operation to ensure proper performance
  • Manage Building Automation/Control Systems for efficient HVAC operation
  • Adhere to safety protocols for hazardous materials handling and housekeeping
  • Monitor tool/inventory and coordinate with external contractors for maintenance
  • Coordinate with vendors/contractors to ensure quality service delivery

Summary: The HVAC Technician is responsible for the maintenance, monitoring, repair, and operation of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems and associated equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with applicable standards. This role requires technical expertise, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to perform preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.


Job Responsibilities:


  • Perform maintenance and repairs to HVAC systems and associated equipment, including chillers, air handling units, condensers, exhaust fans, boilers, and hot water pumps.

  • Execute equipment maintenance including cleaning, inspecting, calibrating, and changing parts to maintain HVAC systems at optimum performance levels.

  • Record readings and make necessary adjustments to ensure proper operation of equipment.

  • Knowledge of and ability to manage Building Automation / Control Systems to ensure effective / efficient operations within the HVAC systems that this role will support.

  • Comply with departmental policy for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials; maintain a clean and safe workplace.

  • Perform periodic checks of tool and instrument inventory.

  • Monitor the quality and pricing of maintenance work performed by outside contractors.

  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and service providers to ensure excellent execution of maintenance work.



  • Requires travel to assigned sites/locations, including overnight travel as needed based on business demand.

Required Qualifications:


  • EPA Section 608 Technician Certification (required for handling refrigerants)

  • Fall Protection Certification

  • Confined Space Certification (if applicable)

  • Evidence of applicable State or local HVAC licensing as required

  • Demonstrated experience in HVAC maintenance and repair


Physical Demands:


  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

  • Work may require travel to various sites and rooftop locations

  • Must be able to work in team environment with strong interpersonal skills


Work Environment:


  • Work hours: Monday - Friday (may vary based on site requirements). Participation also required in an On-Call rotation program for the region.

  • Work performed at client locations, including mechanical rooms, rooftops, and other facility areas
