Job summary

JLL in Kansas City, KS is seeking a Mobile Engineer to maintain and repair facility systems, including HVAC, electrical and plumbing. You will operate and troubleshoot equipment, run preventive maintenance, and support safety and compliance across assigned buildings.

The role requires hands-on technical skills in at least one craft area (e.g., Electrical, HVAC, Piping/Plumbing) and willingness to learn others, with strong customer service and computer literacy.

Qualifications

• Must be able to wear PPE and work in potentially hazardous environments.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Proficient with basic computer applications (Word/Excel).

Responsibilities

• Maintain preventive and repair work on facility mechanical and electrical systems.
• Operate and repair HVAC systems and related equipment; monitor electrical distribution, plumbing, and building repairs.
• Record readings, ensure proper operation, and perform safety inspections and due diligence tasks.

Job Summary

The Mobile Engineer has a strong focus on operating, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing facility equipment on all systems. To successfully complete daily/weekly work assignments, the Mobile Engineer is expected to demonstrate technical expertise in one craft area (e.g. Electrical, HVAC, Piping/Plumbing, etc.) and be multi-skilled in others.

Areas of Responsibility

• Maintenance Performance of ongoing preventive and repair response work orders on facility mechanical, electrical and other installed systems, equipment, and other components.
• Maintain, operate, and repair all HVAC systems and associated equipment, electrical distribution equipment, plumbing systems, building interior/exterior repair, and related grounds as it pertains to assigned buildings.
• Maintain HVAC systems and equipment at optimum levels (e.g., cleaning, inspecting, changing parts).
• Study and become familiar with the various items of equipment, and the methods required to use them properly, that are required in everyday activities.
• Monitor pricing and work quality of outside contractors.
• Where necessary, record readings and adjust to ensure proper operation of equipment.
• Perform assigned facility inspections and due diligence efforts, reporting on as found conditions impacting satisfactory client occupancy and operations.
• Review monthly Client Service Request summaries to pinpoint and correct recurrent operational problems.
• Respond to customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
• Assist the Facility Management team with emergency situations (e.g., fire alarms, chemical spills, hazardous conditions, inoperative critical equipment) and take appropriate actions.
• Complete Hazard Assessments as necessary.
• Comply with all safety procedures, maintaining good housekeeping and safety of work areas.
• Recognize danger and safety hazards and propose methods to eliminate them.
• Maintain compliance to State, County, or City Ordinances, Codes, or Laws.
• Must complete all required safety training as scheduled.
• Practice Defensive Driving at all times.
• Driving Position requires a valid state driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Driving for long periods of time.
• Submit P-card receipts.
• Daily update work order status in real time.
• Utilize CMMS systems such as Corrigo for all work performed.
• Perform Vehicle Safety Inspection.
• Escalate problems or issues to Customer and Manager in a timely manner.
• Attend work and safety meetings as required.
• All other duties and tasks assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Ability to perform all work using the proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Strong Customer Service skills.
• Strong Interpersonal skills.
• Working knowledge of computer applications, including Word and Excel.

Education/Training

• High School Diploma or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of two years of college or related trade schooling.
• Minimum of four years’ experience in the electrician trade or related field – or minimum of four years’ experience in the HVAC/refrigeration trade or related field.

Other abilities

• Must be available for Call-in work and perform other duties as required.

Certifications/licenses

• HVAC technicians must have a Universal CFC recovery certification (or within 90 days of employment).
• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Licenses as required by authority having jurisdiction.

Physical work requirements and work conditions

• Lifting up to 80 lbs.
• Working from heights.
• Frequently climbing, bending, lifting, kneeling, stooping, and working/extending overhead.
• Working in adverse conditions (i.e., extreme cold, extreme hot).
• Climbing a ladder with a 300 lb weight limit while carrying a tool bag weighing approximately 20 lbs.
• Climbing a ladder up to 30 feet.
