Thompson Engineering seeks an experienced Driller to join our Mobile office. The role involves operating drilling equipment to obtain soil samples for geotechnical analysis and logging results, with regular travel to project sites.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on drilling experience, a strong safety and quality mindset, and the ability to work effectively with clients, supervisors, and teammates. This is a full-time position based in Mobile, AL with travel requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2–5 years of experience in soil drilling.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate drilling equipment to obtain soil samples for geotechnical analysis.
• Conduct accurate visual inspections and log soil samples for reporting.
• Hold and guide drill rods during drilling operations.
• Load and unload drilling equipment from company vehicles.
• Safely drive company vehicles to and from job sites.
• Communicate effectively with clients, supervisors, and team members.
• Maintain consistent, on-time attendance.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
