Thompson Engineering is seeking a Driller to operate drilling equipment and obtain soil samples for geotechnical analysis in our Louisiana office. The role requires regular travel to project sites and a strong commitment to safety and quality.

Ideal candidates have hands-on drilling experience, can follow directions, and communicate effectively with clients and team members. Valid driver’s license and basic computer skills are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2–5 years of experience in soil drilling.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate drilling equipment to obtain soil samples for geotechnical analysis.
• Conduct accurate visual inspections and log soil samples for reporting.
• Hold and guide drill rods during drilling operations.
• Load and unload drilling equipment from company vehicles.
• Safely drive company vehicles to and from job sites.
• Communicate effectively with clients, supervisors, and team members.
• Maintain consistent, on-time attendance.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
