Job summary

BGIS is seeking a Mobile General Skilled Technician in Brooklyn, NY to service client facilities, perform repairs, preventive maintenance, and small projects from a fully equipped service vehicle.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2-5 years of experience installing, maintaining, and repairing complex electrical systems in commercial buildings.
• Proficiency with tools and equipment (e.g. ladders)
• Professional, courteous, and customer-focused demeanor
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to read blueprints, plans, and diagrams
• Budget management experience
• Comfort using mobile devices for work orders
• Demonstrated experience in general repairs (painting, carpentry, plumbing) in commercial settings
• High school diploma or GED required
• Trade school education in building-related fields preferred
• Relevant training certifications are a plus

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance at various facilities, requiring driving to different sites.
• Complete work in accordance to established processes and practices.
• Comply with health, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Provide observations and recommendations for enhancements and repairs.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair building systems.
• Respond to service requests and perform preventative maintenance.
• Record resolution data in the maintenance database and ensure quality.
• Submit expenditures on a timely basis.
