Job summary

Alta Equipment Group seeks a Forklift Field Service Technician for our Calumet City, IL branch. This full-time role covers preventative maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of material handling equipment with a focus on customer service.

The position is first shift, Monday–Friday, with hourly pay up to $35/hr and union Local 150 involvement. You must have 2–3 years of mechanic experience, forklift repair preferred, and own tools.

Qualifications

• Must have 2-3 years of previous mechanic experience; forklift repair experience preferred.
• Must have basic knowledge of hydraulics.
• Must be able to read schematics.
• Must be able to navigate with cell phone and laptop.
• Candidate must possess own tools.
• Must have clean driving record and valid driver’s license to drive company vehicle.
• Must have basic knowledge of electricity.
• Excellent organizational skills and a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on customer forklifts and other material handling equipment.
• Diagnose and repair all forms of customer equipment.
• Complete repairs in a timely, efficient, and professional manner.
• Provide exceptional customer service.
• Work and manage workloads independently.
