Job description

Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Mobile Forensic Analyst to support the Federal Strategic Cyber Operating Unit.

Location: Reston, VA; full-time, on-site.

In this role, you will:

  • Train, mentor, and support team members to develop technical skills and improve performance.
  • Develop team members' skills to advance their cybersecurity careers.
  • Manage schedule and technical performance across multiple projects or major tasks.
  • Conduct forensic examinations of mobile devices (e.g., Android and iOS phones).
  • Analyze and report on mobile threat data from classified, proprietary, and open-source resources to inform stakeholders.
  • Identify and analyze attack vectors, emerging cyber threats, and trends used by malicious actors.
  • Assess the cyber threat environment globally, especially concerning U.S. missions.
  • Apply principles and practices accepted by the forensic community.
  • Use industry-standard forensic tools such as Encase, FTK, Cellebrite, and others for analysis.
  • Collaborate with forensic analysts, law enforcement, and legal experts on evidence recovery, preservation, analysis, and presentation.
  • Travel domestically and internationally to support evidence collection efforts.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 3 years of relevant experience; an additional 4 years of experience may substitute for a degree.
  • Certifications such as CAP, CASP+ CE, CCISO, CCNA-Security, CISM, CISSP (or Associate), CND, CSSLP, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, GSLC, Security+ CE, SSCP, PPDA, Agile IC, or SNOW App Dev.
  • Proven experience in mobile device forensic acquisitions.
  • Experience analyzing forensic images and data for indicators of compromise, root cause, and artifacts related to network intrusions.
  • Strong critical, creative, and analytical thinking skills.
  • Ability to produce detailed reports translating technical information for non-technical audiences.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for evidence collection.
  • U.S. citizenship and an active Top Secret security clearance to start; ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI clearance.
