Job summary

Pepsi Bottling Ventures LLC is seeking a Mobile Fleet Technician Lead to join our team. This role requires regular travel between Rocky Mount, Goldsboro, Elizabeth City, and Garner to support fleet maintenance across multiple locations.

You'll lead and perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs, driving safety, uptime, and efficiency while coaching field technicians. CDL A, ASE certs, and strong diagnostics are essential.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s Degree preferred.
  • Eight (8) ASE certifications or more than ten (10) years of relevant fleet maintenance experience.
  • Valid CDL Class A license.
  • Brake certification required.
  • Diagnose and repair diesel, gasoline, and propane fuel systems.
  • Diagnose and repair air, hydraulic, and electric brake systems.
  • Diagnose and repair vehicle HVAC systems.
  • Electrical systems testing, diagnostics, and repair.

Responsibilities

  • Lead mobile fleet maintenance across multiple locations; ensure safety, reliability, and uptime.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and major/minor repairs in shop and field.
  • Provide on-site leadership, training, and support to technicians to strengthen team capability.
  • Coordinate workload across locations and monitor fleet status for management reports.

Role Overview

To lead and support mobile fleet maintenance operations by ensuring all company equipment is maintained in a safe, reliable, and road-ready condition, while driving efficiency, safety compliance, and technician performance in the field. This role requires regular travel between Rocky Mount, Goldsboro, Elizabeth City, and Garner to provide on-site maintenance support, perform road calls, and ensure fleet uptime across multiple locations.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on fleet equipment across multiple locations.
  • Perform major and minor repairs on fleet equipment in both shop and field environments, including road call support.
  • Perform advanced diagnostics andtroubleshootingfault codes and mechanical issues in the field.
  • Operate and drive PBV fleet equipment asrequired; must maintain CDL A licensure.
  • Provide on-site leadership, training, and support to technicians to strengthen team capability and performance.
  • Communicate effectively with employees, management, and vendors;utilizesystems including Excel, Word, Outlook, and diagnostic software.
  • Document repairs, parts usage, and service details accurately in fleet maintenance systems.
  • Coordinate andmonitorworkload across locations, prioritizing mobile service needs and technician assignments.
  • Reportdaily tomanagement on fleet status, service activities, and operational updates.
  • Manage multiple priorities across locations whilemaintainingfocus on safety, efficiency, and operational goals.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications

  • Basic welding skills.
  • Proficient knowledge and experience with tools and equipment.
  • Ability tooperateand drive vehicles safely.
  • Exhibit a strong work ethic and the ability to perform and oversee physically and mentally demanding work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain a personal set of mechanical toolsappropriate toexperience level and support team productivity.
  • Demonstrate effective leadership by guiding, coaching, and supporting fleet technicians to ensure high performance and team development.
  • Support andparticipatein work performed in both indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to varying weather conditions year-round.
  • Ensurehigh standardsof accuracy and attention to detail in all maintenance, repair, and documentation activities.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with technicians, vendors, and leadership, both verbally and in writing.
  • Meet and uphold all company driving qualifications and safety standards.
  • Maintain flexibility to work scheduled hours and adjust based on operational needs, staffing, or emergencies.
  • Successfully obtain andmaintaina valid DOT physicalin accordance withcompany and regulatory requirements.
  • Hold andmaintaina current CDL Class A license.
