Job summary

Protech Automotive Solutions is seeking an Automotive Installation Technician to join our growing team. You’ll install GPS, telematics, cameras, sensors, and other fleet technology across cars, trucks, tractors, and trailers, with opportunities to expand into fleet tech.

Ideal candidates have automotive, electrical, or installation backgrounds and enjoy learning new technology. We value safety, quality, and right-first-time installations in a hands-on role.

Qualifications

• Hands-on automotive, electrical, mechanical, or installation experience.
• Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and basic diagnostics.
• Comfortable using hand and power tools.
• Ability to read basic wiring diagrams and technical instructions.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Professional communication and customer service skills.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• 21+ years of age.

Responsibilities

• Install and troubleshoot GPS, ELDs, telematics, dash cameras, sensors, and tracking equipment.
• Work on light-duty vehicles, commercial trucks, tractors, trailers, and other fleet assets.
• Perform basic 12V/24V wiring, including power, ignition, ground, diagnostic, and trailer connections.
• Route and secure wiring for clean, professional installations.
• Test GPS, cellular connectivity, cameras, sensors, and system functionality.
• Diagnose electrical, connectivity, and installation issues.
• Document completed installations with photos, device information, and service notes.
• Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, and right-first-time installations.
• Occasionally work weekends or adjusted schedules to support customer projects, fleet installations, or business needs.
• Travel to customer and fleet locations for mobile installations and projects, including occasional travel outside your assigned market based on business needs.
