Job summary

Clean Harbors Birmingham, AL is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Mechanic to perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on the company fleet across branch locations in the area.

Responsibilities include ensuring safety, completing PMs, and traveling as needed. Requires high school diploma, valid license, 1+ year experience with heavy trucks, and ability to pass background/drug/physical tests. Competitive benefits and opportunities for certification training provided.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• 1+ years prior experience working on heavy duty-trucks and equipment.
• 1+ years DOT inspection experience required.
• Must be able to provide own basic tools.
• Willingness to travel within assigned territory up to 70%.
• Attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and overtime as required.
• Ability to determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections, scheduled PM's and diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged parts & replacement as needed.
• Ability to pass a background, drug, and physical test upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Health and Safety is the top priority and follow safe work practices.
• Correct equipment deficiencies and perform preventative maintenance on company-owned equipment.
• Inspect equipment and identify unsatisfactory conditions.
• Comply with mandatory PPE requirements during all activities.
• Travel to other locations to perform repairs and maintenance as required.
• Complete and submit all paperwork for PM schedules.
• Maintain active light duty or DQ driver status as per mobile vehicle type.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
