Job summary

MasTec Communications Group is seeking a Fleet Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, and repair company vehicles, utilities equipment, and heavy construction gear. This hands-on role supports field operations and may work from a shop or job site, with travel as needed.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of mechanical repair experience, a valid driver’s license, and a DOT Medical Certification. CDL is preferred. A bilingual English/Spanish ability is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years mechanical repair experience on trucks and heavy equipment.
• Valid driver’s license and current DOT Medical Certification.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair, and maintain company vehicles and heavy equipment in field or shop.
• Diagnose diesel, hydraulic, electrical, brake, and powertrain issues and document work.
• Perform DOT inspections and maintain service records.
• Coordinate parts and repairs with vendors to minimize downtime.
• Follow safety policies and operate in varied outdoor environments.
