Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking a field technician to install, test, inspect, and repair fire suppression systems on mobile equipment. You will perform inspections, document findings, and ensure systems meet manufacturer specifications.

This entry-level role requires a mechanical background, a clean driving record, and flexibility for evenings or overnight travel when needed. You will work outdoors in all weather, handling tools and equipment to keep facilities and projects safe.

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial fire suppression systems or a related mechanical trade.
• Troubleshooting skills.
• At least 1 year in a mechanically inclined role.
• Clean driving record and reliable transportation to/from job site.
• Willingness to work overtime and possible overnight travel.

Responsibilities

• Install or upgrade suppression systems on mobile equipment.
• Test and repair systems already in place.
• Perform inspections to ensure proper installation.
• Complete detailed inspection reports in a timely manner.
• Inspect and maintain truck and related equipment; request repairs as needed.
• Respond to emergency service calls; work outdoors in various conditions.
