Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking a Special Hazards Technician to install, inspect, test, maintain and repair special hazard fire suppression systems in commercial and residential buildings. You will ensure compliance with codes, manufacturer specifications and safety standards.

The role requires NICET 2 certification, 2+ years of fire protection experience, and thorough knowledge of NFPA codes. A valid driving record and flexibility for evening/weekend/out-of-town assignments are required.

Qualifications

• Experience with commercial and residential fire suppression systems.
• NICET 2 certification in Fire Alarm or Special Hazards.
• 2+ years of experience in fire protection, alarm, sprinkler, or special hazards systems.
• Working knowledge of NFPA 12, 17, 17A, 72, 2001 and applicable local codes.
• Experience with clean agent and industrial suppression systems.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, inspect, and repair special hazard fire suppression systems.
• Test and repair systems in place.
• Perform inspections to ensure installations meet code.
• Complete inspection reports documenting issues and results.
• Maintain company equipment and vehicles.
