Job summary

AVMAC LLC in San Diego, CA seeks a Mobile Facility Technician II to inspect, service, and repair mobile facilities and environmental control units on-site. The role requires reading technical manuals and applying electrical and mechanical expertise to resolve problems.

Qualified candidates will hold a High School Diploma, be a U.S. citizen, and have a valid driver’s license. HVAC/EPA certification is required, with courses completed at NATTC NAS Pensacola or CNATT North Island/ Jacksonville.

Qualifications

• Must have normal color perception.
• Secret security clearance eligibility.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Complete the Aviation Electricians Mate Course Strand Class A1 (N23A972).
• Complete the Mobile Maintenance Facilities Program Course (N28T5U7) or (N37T5U2).
• Universal HVAC/EPA Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, service, maintain and repair mobile facilities and associated environmental control units, generators, and all other electrical and ancillary equipment.
• Repair and modify mobile facility structures and structural components of moderate difficulty.
• Diagnose malfunctions using technical publications and manuals; restore equipment condition and operation.
• Lead teams through more complex tasks when required and sign off on work.
• Prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects.

Position Summary:

Mobile Facility Technicians inspect, service, maintain and repair mobile facilities and associated environmental control units, generators, and all other electrical and ancillary equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Mechanics maintain repairs and modify mobile facility structures and structural components of moderate difficulty.
• Maintains and repair’s structure, heating, air conditioning, hydraulic and electrical mobile facility environmental control systems as applicable / required.
• Applies technical knowledge of mobile facility systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies required expertise in restoring equipment condition and or operation and applies comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as blueprints or manufactures’ manuals.
• Must have a thorough knowledge of mobile facility mechanical component troubleshooting, repair procedures and replacement of parts.
• Requires broad knowledge of sheet metal/structural modifications and repair, HVAC systems and repair, electrical / generator systems, and must have thorough knowledge of unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes and sheer.
• This job requires working knowledge of technical publications. The incumbent receives technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician, will occasionally be required to lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks, inspect, sign off and may be required to make entries in mobile facility logs and records.
• Must be able to prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills Required:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Must have normal color perception.
• Security requirement: secret security clearance eligibility.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Complete the Aviation Electricians Mate Course Strand Class A1 (N23A972), at NATTC NAS Pensacola, FL.
• Complete the Mobile Maintenance Facilities Program Course (N28T5U7) at CNATT Unit North Island, CA; or (N37T5U2) at CNATT Unit Jacksonville, FL.
• Universal HVAC/EPA Certification required.

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

• Work may require frequent bending, reaching and climbing.
• May frequently lift and carry items weighing up to fifty pounds and occasionally lift heavier items with the assistance of other workers.
• Work may be performed on top or under equipment in cramped or awkward positions.
