Where You Will Work

Our Henderson mine and mill are an hour's drive apart, separated by the Continental Divide and a 15-mile conveyor system (10 miles underground). The Henderson mine is an underground molybdenum mining operation located approximately 42 miles west of Denver and 10 miles west of Empire. It has been in operation since 1976 and today consists of a large block-cave, underground mining complex feeding a concentrator with a capacity of approximately 32,000 metric tons per day, producing about 15 million pounds of molybdenum annually. The Henderson mill is located 15 miles west of the mine, between Dillon and Kremmling.

Employees required to work on-site are eligible for a $1,450 monthly housing allowance, provided they meet program guidelines.

What You Will Do

1. Perform diagnostic, maintenance, and repair of heavy equipment such as Haul Trucks, Water Trucks, Rubber Tire and Track Dozers, Front-end Loaders, and Motor Graders.
2. Remove, repair, and install transmissions, engines, brakes, differentials, pumps, motors, torque converters, final drives, and other heavy equipment systems or components.
3. Perform mechanical and lubrication preventative maintenance on hydraulic, power train, and engine systems.
4. Prioritize repairs and make decisions regarding equipment repair as needed.
5. Maintain work orders and perform work area inspections.
6. Operate mobile equipment such as overhead cranes, forklifts, and boom trucks.
7. Perform welding (Carbon arc, Plasma, Mig, Tig, and Stick).
8. Serve as a Fill-in Supervisor as required.
9. Train and mentor other employees.
10. Perform other duties as required.

What You Bring To Freeport

• Two (2) years of experience in mechanical/maintenance crafts or a combination of education and experience in industrial mechanical repair and maintenance.
• Completion of academic and practical competencies required, including Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where applicable.
• Practical skills assessments as defined in LOP for HEM Diagnostic Mechanic I.
• Ability to understand and apply verbal and written instructions and safety procedures in English.
• Effective communication skills in English regarding job assignments, procedures, and safety standards.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to prioritize repairs.
• Ability to work well with others and read blueprints.

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.

What We Offer You

The estimated pay range for this role is $29.50 - $39.50 per hour, excluding bonuses, benefits, or retirement contributions. Actual pay depends on experience and qualifications.
