We are hiring a Mobile Engineer to help manage, expand and oversee our rapidly growing portfolio of federal contracts.


What you'll be doing:

You’ll be developing and maintaining mobile-first, user-centered features for the My HealtheVet platform, enabling Veterans to securely access and manage their healthcare information on the go. Working within a modern React Native environment and VA.gov’s design system, you’ll collaborate closely with UX designers, product managers, and API developers to deliver performant, accessible, and secure mobile experiences.

What you’ll bring:

  • 3+ years of experience building mobile applications using React Native, iOS/Swift, or Android/Kotlin in production environments
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and modern front-end practices
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs, mobile state management (e.g., Redux or Context), and performance optimization
  • Familiarity with Firebase monitoring and remote configuration tools
  • Understanding of WCAG 2.1 / Section 508 accessibility standards
  • Experience building and maintaining secure applications in compliance with HIPAA or federal security guidelines
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, and agile methodologies
  • Ability to work collaboratively with designers, product managers, and backend engineers
  • Bonus: Experience working with Veteran-facing applications or federal digital services
  • Bonus: Familiarity with VA.gov design system, GraphQL, or mobile app deployment via App Store / Google Play
  • A consultant mindset that keeps the needs of the client and users at the forefront of all decisions.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments.
  • Capable of taking direction from senior leadership and translating into concrete next steps and actions.

  • Must be a US Citizen and able to work domestically
  • Must be able to attain low-level security clearance

United States Wage Range: $90,000 – $130,000
