About The Role
The Mobile Engineer builds and operates native iOS and Android experiences used by customers every day. The role spans client architecture, API integration, offline behavior, performance optimization, and release management across Swift or Kotlin-based applications. Working with product, design, backend, and platform engineers, the role turns product requirements into reliable mobile workflows. The team values engineers who can make sound architectural decisions, diagnose issues in production, and improve the development experience through strong testing and observability.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and ship customer-facing features for iOS using Swift and SwiftUI and/or Android using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose
- Build reliable integrations with REST or GraphQL services, including authentication, caching, synchronization, error handling, and offline workflows
- Define and evolve mobile architecture using established patterns such as MVVM, unidirectional data flow, modularization, and dependency injection
- Improve application quality through unit, integration, and UI testing with XCTest, XCUITest, Espresso, or equivalent frameworks
- Profile and optimize startup time, rendering performance, battery usage, memory consumption, and network efficiency
- Own mobile releases through CI/CD pipelines, feature flags, crash monitoring, and staged rollouts using tools such as Firebase, Sentry, Fastlane, or Bitrise
- Collaborate in design reviews and code reviews, document technical decisions, and mentor engineers on mobile development practices
What We Are Looking For
- 3–8 years of professional software engineering experience, including 2+ years developing and shipping production mobile applications
- Strong experience with either Swift and iOS SDKs or Kotlin and Android SDKs; practical experience across both platforms is highly valued
- Proficiency with modern mobile frameworks and patterns, including SwiftUI or UIKit, Jetpack Compose or Android Views, asynchronous programming, and dependency injection
- Experience integrating REST or GraphQL APIs, authentication flows, push notifications, deep links, analytics, and third‑party SDKs
- Hands‑on understanding of mobile testing, CI/CD, crash reporting, app performance profiling, and App Store or Google Play release processes
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience
- Bonus: Experience with cross‑platform development using React Native or Flutter, mobile security and privacy practices, accessibility standards, Kotlin Multiplatform, or high‑scale consumer applications
