Qualifications

Job Overview

The Mobile Diesel & Trailer Technician performs licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, light repairs, diagnostics, and other duties. They learn advanced skills under supervision and strive for high performance metrics.

Responsibilities
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on vehicles and trailers in a mobile environment.
  • Perform minor adjustments and repairs on truck and trailer systems, including electrical, brake, cooling, engine electronics, and more.
  • Diagnose malfunctions, test equipment, and road test vehicles to ensure proper operation.
  • Manage parts inventory, maintain safety and vehicle inspections, and document all work accurately using company tools and applications.
Minimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED and 5 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Possess necessary hand tools for the job.
  • Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) and 608/609 certifications within 18 months.
  • Pass DOT physical and background checks; hold a valid driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record.
Preferred Certifications
  • ASE T3, T4, T5, T6, T7, and 608/609 certifications.
Skills & Abilities
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and physical endurance skills.
  • Ability to use various tools, diagnostic equipment, and perform physical labor.
