Job summary

Rainier Recruiting is seeking a Field Service Technician in Seattle, WA, with 2+ years of diesel engine repair experience. Position involves maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and diesel systems at customer sites, with travel 1–2 weeks per month and relocation assistance for qualified candidates.

The role requires strong safety awareness, excellent communication, and the ability to document services and train junior staff. Valid driver’s license and post-secondary education preferred.

Qualifications

• Must manage time effectively and follow procedures.
• Strong written and verbal communication; basic computer use.
• Excellent organizational skills and safety awareness.
• Willing to travel on short notice as needed.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Two years of diesel engine repair experience.
• Post-secondary vocational education preferred.
• Systems certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and diesel systems for various customer equipment, using independent judgment.
• Document services and train junior technicians when needed.
• Order necessary parts from vendors and travel to customer sites as required.
• Conduct inspections and diagnostic tests to identify worn or damaged parts.
• Address diesel engine issues by disassembly, repair, overhauls, and replacement of major assemblies.
• Complete paperwork to record hours worked on each job.
• Adhere to a consistent work schedule.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
