Job summary

Saia LTL Freight is seeking a Mobile Diesel Mechanic in Greenville, SC to perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on tractors, trailers, and related equipment from a mobile service van. You will travel between terminals, diagnose issues, respond to road calls, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

You will document maintenance activities, parts usage, and repair outcomes, collaborating with terminal leadership and drivers to schedule service while maintaining inventory

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Must provide and maintain personal maintenance tools.
• Must maintain a valid driver's license and a motor vehicle record that meets company standards for operating a company vehicle.
• Read, write, communicate and comprehend the English language to perform job tasks and documents.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on tractors, trailers, and fleet equipment in compliance with company standards and DOT regulations.
• Travels to assigned terminals and remote locations to diagnose issues and complete repairs using a mobile service van.
• Responds to road calls and emergency service requests to minimize equipment downtime.
• Conducts inspections to ensure safety and compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
• Completes required documentation for maintenance activities, parts usage, and repair outcomes in the maintenance system.
• Collaborates with terminal leadership, fleet management, and drivers to prioritize work and schedule service.
• Maintains inventory and security of tools, parts, and equipment assigned to the mobile unit.
