Job summary

Paper Transport, Inc. is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician to perform on-site diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on heavy-duty trucks and trailers in Wisconsin.

You will work independently in the field, handling repairs, preventive maintenance, and on-road service calls to keep our fleet moving safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate has 2–3 years of experience in heavy-duty truck repair, strong diesel and electrical knowledge, and the ability to read schematics and use diagnostic tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in diesel technology preferred.
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in heavy-duty truck and trailer repair.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, air brake systems, and electrical systems.
• Ability to operate diagnostic equipment and read schematics.
• Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required).
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs and work in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on trucks and trailers.
• Perform preventive maintenance services, including oil changes, brake inspections, and tire replacements.
• Respond to roadside service calls and emergency breakdowns in a timely manner.
• Utilize diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot engine and system faults.
• Maintain accurate service records and complete work orders using company systems.
• Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company safety standards.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, drivers, and management regarding repair status and recommendations.
