Job summary

Inland Kenworth in Fontana, CA is seeking a Mobile Diesel Service Technician to visit customer sites and perform repair and maintenance on Class 8 trucks per dealer and factory specs. You will diagnose and repair issues, communicate with parts, and document work completed.

We require 5+ years of Class 8 truck experience, CDL preferred, and the ability to lift 50 pounds. The role offers full‑time hours, competitive pay, benefits, and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a Class 8 technician in a dealership or truck facility.
• Valid Driver’s License; CDL is a plus.
• A/C, Brake and DOT Inspector certifications preferred.

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds and stand/walk for long periods.

Responsibilities

THE OPPORTUNITY

Mobile Diesel Service Technician will be responsible for visiting customer locations for repair and maintenance of industrial trucks according to dealership and factory specifications.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards including engine overhaul, fuel systems, electrical systems, transmissions, colling systems, chassis, brakes, engine tune-up and preventative maintenance
• Analyzes customers’ truck performance complaints, diagnoses cause of any malfunctions and performs repair.
• Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.
• Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
• Documenting all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
• Road test vehicles when required.
• Becomes familiar with and complies with the company’s Health & Safety Manual.
• Keeps mobile repair truck neat and clean after each repair. Returns all common tools that were used in the repair to their designated storage place.
• Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, occupational health & safety regulations, etc.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR

• 5+ years’ experience as a Class 8 technician, preferable in a dealership or related truck facility (preferred)
• Valid Driver’s License, CDL is a plus
• A/C, Brake and DOT Annual Inspector Certifications (preferred)
• Basic computer skills and experience
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, must be able to walk around shop floor and exterior yard area (long periods standing / walking), requires mobility to easily access and egress trucks and equipment
• Regular, full attendance is an essential function of the job
