Job summary

West Michigan International (WMI) and K&R Truck Sales is seeking a Mobile Heavy-Duty Truck Technician to perform preventive maintenance, DOT inspections, repairs, and on-site service for customers' diesel vehicles.

You will diagnose issues on trucks and trailers, communicate estimates to the Service Advisor, and work with a team that values safety and efficiency. The position offers overtime, a commission plan for after-hours calls, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• ASE certification preferred but not required.
• Minimum of 2 years of diesel technician experience.
• State of Michigan HDT repair certified.
• Willingness to stay up-to-date on industry training and equipment.
• Possess your own hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standards.
• Utilize diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
• Respond to after-hours service calls on a scheduled rotation basis, with overtime and commission for completed service calls.
• Diagnose and repair trucks and trailers, including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning.
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor to inform customers of any additional service needed and provide time estimates for repairs.
• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.
• Maintain and manage company-provided service truck, including parts and tools.
• Work independently and maintain a high level of productivity.

We are seeking a skilled Mobile Heavy-Duty Truck Technician to perform preventative maintenance, DOT inspections, basic repairs, jump starts, fueling, welding, hydraulic repairs, electrical work, and other duties as assigned. As a Mobile Diesel Technician, you will be responsible for providing on-site maintenance and repair services to our customers' diesel vehicles and equipment. Compensation

Our Mobile Diesel Technicians earn between $30-$40 per hour, depending on experience. We also offer overtime and a commission plan for after-hours service, which means you can make up to $112 per hour!
