Job Description

The Mobile Diesel Technician II will perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, light repairs, diagnostics, and other duties. They will perform advanced diagnostics and repairs under supervision, learning additional skills and techniques to meet high performance standards.

Responsibilities

1. Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on vehicles in a mobile environment.
2. Perform minor adjustments and repairs on various truck systems (electrical, brake, cooling, engine electronics, etc.).
3. Diagnose, test, and repair equipment using appropriate instruments.
4. Road test vehicles to ensure proper operation.
5. Manage parts inventory and maintain company-issued service vehicle.
6. Document work performed accurately and upload pictures and reports via company tools.
7. Complete all documentation timely, including DOT forms.
8. Work independently, prioritize tasks, and communicate effectively with clients and management.
9. Operate tools and equipment safely and maintain safety standards.
10. Adhere to safety, health, and environmental policies and regulations.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ related experience, or equivalent education/experience.
• Own set of hand tools.
• Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
• Must pass DOT background screening and physical; valid driver’s license required.
• At least 21 years old due to interstate commerce regulations.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain Driver Qualification File.

Certifications

• Required: ASE T8 (PMI) within 18 months.
• Preferred: ASE T3, T4, T5, T6, T7, 608/609 certifications.
