Position Overview

The Mobile Diesel Technician I will perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, light repairs, and assist higher-level technicians. Work is regularly audited for quality, and the technician is expected to comply with all policies and performance metrics.

Duties:
  1. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on various vehicles in a mobile environment.
  2. Conduct minor adjustments and repairs on truck systems and components.
  3. Manage parts inventory and equipment on the service truck.
  4. Maintain and operate the service vehicle, including safety checks and inspections.
  5. Communicate effectively with clients and team members.
  6. Prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
  7. Use hand tools, diagnostic instruments, welding equipment, and lifts.
  8. Document work and upload photos using company devices and applications.
  9. Complete all forms accurately and timely.
  10. Work independently, managing your schedule.
  11. Achieve productivity standards and work within repair times.
  12. Procure parts from approved vendors.
  13. Coordinate with management for approvals and documentation.
  14. Follow safety, health, environmental, and federal regulations.
  15. Conduct safety checks and vehicle inspections daily.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma/GED and up to 2 years of related experience.
  • Set of hand tools for the job.
  • Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
  • Pass DOT pre-employment background and physical screening.
  • Valid DOT medical card or valid DOT physical if expiring soon.
  • Must be at least 21 years old due to interstate regulations.
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean 3-year MVR review.
Certifications:
  • Required: ASE T8 (PMI) within 18 months.
  • Preferred: ASE T4 (Brakes).

  • Physical ability to lift, bend, climb, and perform labor-intensive tasks.

  • Ability to select appropriate tools and judge distances.
