We are currently hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II.

The Mobile Diesel Technician Level II will be responsible for performing licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance inspections, light repairs, and diagnostics, including mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic systems. The Technician II can perform more advanced diagnostics and repairs under supervision, continuing to learn additional skills and techniques. A successful candidate complies with company policies and meets performance metrics.

DUTIES:

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (“PM”), DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on vehicles in a mobile environment.
• Perform minor adjustments and repairs on truck equipment, including electrical, brake, cooling systems, starters, alternators, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel steering systems, engines, transmissions, clutches, differentials, etc.
• Diagnose, test, and listen to equipment to identify malfunctions using appropriate instruments.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and proper operation.
• Manage parts inventory and perform periodic reconciliation.
• Maintain and operate company-issued service vehicle, conduct safety checks, and pre-/post-trip inspections.
• Communicate effectively with clients to assess needs, provide information, and resolve issues.
• Prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
• Use hand tools, diagnostic instruments, welding equipment, lifts, and jacks.
• Document work performed, parts used, and observations using company devices and applications.
• Complete DOT forms and other documentation promptly.
• Work independently, managing daily schedules and productivity.
• Obtain parts from approved vendors as needed.
• Coordinate with management via email or phone for approvals and discussions.
• Comply with safety, health, environmental policies, and federal regulations including OSHA, EPA, and DOT.

REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Possess and supply necessary hand tools.
• Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
• Pass DOT-regulated background screening and physical prior to employment.
• Valid DOT medical card or valid medical certification.
• Must be at least 21 years old due to interstate commerce regulations.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean 3-year MVR review.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS OR OBTAINED WITHIN 18 MONTHS:

• ASE T8 (PMI)

PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS:

• ASE T3, T4, T5, T6, T7, T8, 608/609
