Job Description

Fleet Services by Cox Automotive is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II. This role involves performing licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, light repairs, and diagnostics on various trucks and trailers in a mobile environment. The technician will perform more advanced diagnostics and repairs under supervision and continue to develop technical skills.

DUTIES:

1. Perform scheduled maintenance, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on vehicles.
2. Perform minor adjustments and repairs on truck components.
3. Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, and engine systems.
4. Conduct vehicle inspections and road tests to identify malfunctions.
5. Manage parts inventory and document work performed.
6. Operate and maintain company vehicle, ensuring safety checks are completed.
7. Communicate effectively with clients and team members.
8. Complete all documentation accurately and timely.
9. Work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet productivity standards.
10. Adhere to safety and environmental policies, including OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.

REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Possess necessary hand tools.
• Obtain ASE T8 certification within 18 months.
• Pass DOT physical and background checks.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.

Preferred Certifications:

• ASE T3, T4, T5, T6, T7, 608/609 certifications.
