Qualifications

Fleet Services by Cox Automotive is a leading provider of mobile fleet maintenance and repair services nationwide, offering on-site services for trucks and trailers, supported by over 50 service centers across the country.

Position Overview: The Mobile Diesel Technician Level II will perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, repairs, diagnostics, and other duties. Under supervision, they will perform advanced diagnostics and repairs, continuing to learn and develop skills to meet high performance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform scheduled maintenance, DOT inspections, and repairs on vehicles in a mobile environment.
  • Diagnose and repair various truck systems including electrical, brake, cooling, engine, transmission, and more.
  • Conduct road tests and use diagnostic tools to identify malfunctions.
  • Manage parts inventory and maintain company vehicle safety and cleanliness.
  • Document work performed and communicate effectively with clients and management.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a DOT Medical Card.
  • Tools necessary for the job and willingness to obtain ASE T8 certification within 18 months.

Preferred Certifications:

  • ASE T3, T4, T5, T6, T7, T8/609 certifications.

Skills & Abilities: Strong problem-solving, physical ability to perform labor, effective communication, and good judgment for diagnostics and repairs.
