Job Description: Mobile Diesel Technician Level II

Fleet Services, a Cox Automotive company, is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II. The role involves performing licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on trucks and trailers, including diagnostics and light mechanical work. The technician will work independently in the field, manage parts inventory, document work, and ensure safety compliance.

Responsibilities:

1. Perform scheduled maintenance, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on vehicles in a mobile environment.
2. Conduct minor adjustments and repairs on various truck systems such as electrical, brakes, cooling, and engines.
3. Diagnose malfunctions using test instruments and road test vehicles.
4. Manage parts inventory and perform safety checks on the service vehicle.
5. Communicate with clients and management, document work, and complete forms accurately.
6. Work independently, prioritize tasks, and maintain productivity within standard repair times.
7. Obtain necessary parts, and comply with safety and environmental policies.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a DOT Medical Card.
• Own a set of hand tools necessary for the job.
• Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
• Must be at least 21 years old.

Certifications:

• Required: ASE T8 (PMI) within 18 months.
• Preferred: ASE T3, T4, T5, T6, T7, 608/609 certifications.
