Fleet Services by Cox Automotive, headquartered in Indianapolis, is one of the largest fleet maintenance companies in the country. We provide on-site mobile maintenance, repair services, and operate over 50 service centers nationwide.

Position Overview

The Mobile Diesel Technician Level II performs licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on trucks and trailers, with increasing responsibilities under supervision. The role involves diagnostics, repairs, inventory management, and compliance with safety and environmental policies.

Responsibilities

1. Perform scheduled maintenance, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on various vehicles in the field.
2. Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, engine, transmission, and other systems.
3. Test and road test vehicles to ensure proper functioning.
4. Manage parts inventory and maintain company vehicles.
5. Document work and maintain compliance with safety standards.
6. Communicate effectively with clients, management, and support teams.
7. Obtain necessary parts and ensure safety and environmental regulations are followed.

Requirements

1. High School Diploma/GED with 3 years' related experience, or equivalent combination.
2. Own set of hand tools.
3. Obtain ASE T8 certification within 18 months.
4. Pass DOT physical and background checks.
5. Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
6. At least 21 years old due to interstate commerce regulations.

Certifications

• Required: ASE T8 (PMI) within 18 months.
• Preferred: ASE T3, T4, T5, T6, T7, 608/609.
