Position: Mobile Diesel Technician Level II

The Mobile Diesel Technician Level II performs licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, light repairs, diagnostics, and other duties. They handle more advanced diagnostics under supervision and continue to develop mechanical and diagnostic skills.

Responsibilities:

1. Perform scheduled maintenance, DOT inspections, and repairs on vehicles in a mobile environment.
2. Conduct minor adjustments and repairs on various truck systems.
3. Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, and other systems.
4. Test and listen to equipment to identify malfunctions.
5. Road test vehicles to ensure proper operation.
6. Manage parts inventory and maintain company vehicle safety checks.
7. Document work and upload images using company devices and applications.
8. Complete all documentation accurately and timely.
9. Work independently, managing your schedule and productivity.
10. Communicate effectively with management and clients.

Requirements:

1. High School Diploma/GED with 3 years' experience or equivalent education and experience.
2. Own and maintain a set of hand tools.
3. Preferred OEM certifications and completed company training.
4. Must pass DOT background and physical screening; valid DOT medical card required.
5. Minimum age 21, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record.

Certifications:

• Required: ASE T8 (PMI) within 18 months.
• Preferred: ASE T3, T4, T5, T6, T7, T8/609.

• Strong problem-solving, communication, and physical ability to perform tasks.
• Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment accurately.
• Logical reasoning for troubleshooting and decision-making.

Benefits & Compensation:

Hourly pay ranges from $28.70 to $43.03, with additional incentives possible. Benefits include health insurance from day one, 401(k) matching, paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and more. The role is full-time, entry-level, in the Truck Transportation industry, based in Chicago, IL.
