Responsibilities

The Mobile Service Technician is responsible for maintaining the fleet for clients and handling service calls at client locations. Provide service to customers while maintaining exceptional customer service. This includes cleaning, maintenance, visual inspection, removal of parts and attachments, installation with manuals, report writing, disassembly, assembly, parts reuse evaluation, and reconditioning.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards.
  • Handle basic maintenance of trucks, including fueling, checking oil, cleaning, and documenting inspections.
  • Manage inventory control on the service truck and for the vehicle's supplies.
  • Report to the Service Manager and perform assigned duties daily.
  • Be available for after-hours service calls and maintain an open work schedule.
  • Maintain and inventory tools for diesel engine truck maintenance.
  • Read job orders, observe vehicle operation, and determine malfunctions to plan work procedures.
  • Use diagnostic equipment and technical information to perform repairs.
  • Perform diagnosis, removal, and replacement of parts such as injectors, pistons, liners, camshafts, cylinder heads, bearings, oil pans, clutches, fan hubs, differentials, fifth wheels, brakes, batteries, transmissions, and others.
  • Complete diagnostic and documentation functions on the company computer system.
  • Inspect safety devices and make necessary adjustments.
  • Lubricate moving parts and verify vehicle repairs meet specifications.
  • Perform preventive maintenance as requested.
  • Document work performed accurately and submit paperwork timely.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and foster positive relations.
  • Advise customers or service writers of upcoming repairs or services.
  • Participate in training and apply learned skills on the job.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Mechanical aptitude and technical skills are essential.
