Job summary

Sky Pediatric Dentistry seeks a Dental Assistant to coordinate the Mobile Dental Unit program and outreach. You will act as a liaison with external agencies, support dental care delivery in community settings using portable equipment, and manage setup, transport, and breakdown of units.

When not offsite, you will support the main clinic with chairside assisting, patient registration, and sterilization. Travel is frequent using your personal vehicle to various locations, ensuring patient safety

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Dental Assisting or Expanded Duties Certified.
• AED (American Heart Association) certification maintained.
• EFDA Expanded Duties Certification active.
• Florida driver's license with clean driving record; reliable personal vehicle.
• 1–3 years of dental assisting experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate activities related to the Mobile Dental Unit program and liaise with external agencies and safety net providers.
• Assist dentist and/or dental hygienist during clinical procedures, including nitrous oxide management and patient monitoring.
• Provide patient registration, check-in, and insurance verification.
• Prepare instruments, maintain sterilization, and ensure infection control protocols.
• Perform offsite travel and transport of portable dental equipment; load/unload and set up units at offsite locations.
• Support day-to-day clinic operations when not in the community, including chairside assisting and sterilization.
