Job summary

Burrell Behavioral Health is seeking a Mobile Crisis Specialist in Springfield, MO to provide on-call/mobile crisis intervention, including face-to-face or telehealth support, risk assessments, and safety planning in collaboration with partners.

You will coordinate with law enforcement and hospital services, document interventions, and work within a multidisciplinary team to de-escalate crises and connect clients to appropriate care.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in counseling and guidance, rehabilitation counseling, social work, education, vocational counseling, psychology, pastoral counseling, family therapy, or a related human service field.
  • A minimum of a high school diploma or GED plus 5 years of supervised clinical experience in mental health or human services.
  • Experience assessing and intervening in mental health crises, including suicidality assessment and safety planning.
  • Excellent oral and written communication abilities and strong time-management skills.
  • Ability to establish rapport via telephone and face-to-face contacts, and work independently within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to on-call/mobile crisis requests and provide immediate, person-centered crisis intervention in the community or via telehealth.
  • Conduct thorough face-to-face crisis assessments, evaluate risk (including suicidality), and develop safety plans with individuals and families.
  • Coordinate access to crisis services, including hospitalizations or referrals to community resources as needed.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, emergency medical personnel, internal teams, and external partners to ensure safe, least-restrictive outcomes.
  • Maintain timely, accurate documentation in electronic medical records to meet reporting/compliance requirements.
  • Attend trainings, supervision, and meetings to maintain competencies and program compliance.
